"When somebody SHOWS you who they are, BELIEVE them the FIRST time."This is a quote by Maya Angelou, I heard years ago, and have lived by ever since. What it does, is allow me to pay attention to my gut, and not allow guilt, or the tendency to WANT to ignore even the smallest, initial red flag, and give someone a second chance.Sometimes the flag can be very small, or subtle, and we have been taught to use our intellect to override our most primitive ability to sense danger.Any police officer will tell you, if they respond to a call, and the situation appears to be safe, but their gut tells them it is not, they are trained to go with the gut. When I think back to times I've sensed the first red flag, I ask myself, "How many times have I been wrong?" My answer is, "Never."I'm sure Nicole had a red flag. She ended up with a sea of red flags, and more. This is a tragic, and all too common example of the consequences of second chances. What makes me crazy, is how anybody could watch this video, and not see the absolute, textbook narcissist in Simpson. He gives himself away in a few very simple ways. First, he STILL, on camera, cannot help himself from blaming Nicole. Of course, he does it in an obtuse manner, but it is what EVERY abuser does. No matter WHAT society says, they always feel justified.Years later, he still cannot resist the impulse to yell obscenities at the home of the DA who prosecuted him, as he drives by, telling the audience how he did that many times after his acquittal.Remember the 911 recording where you hear a frantic Nicole pleading with the operator to send someone quickly, because OJ is breaking down the back door? He can easily be heard in the background screaming, and noise of what Nicole said was Simpson breaking the door down.If it were me breaking down a door, I would think NIcole would be on the phone to the police. She may have even warned him, I don't remember.Either this does not occur to him, or he is so enraged, he cannot stop himself. Another implication that is so ironic, is the fact this wasn't the first time police were called to Bundy, yet we are to believe he is the object of racist persecution. What I believe is apparent, is he has no impulse control, capable of terrifying rage, and has not only NOT been treated unfairly by police, but actually gotten away with outrageous behavior time and time again, because of his celebrity status. If the police had not given him special celebrity treatment, Nicole may be alive todayAND, he spends the whole time in the video, talking about how the tragedy has cramped his style. There is not the smallest HINT of the grief most humans losing a loved one in such a horrific manner, would still feel, even after 20 years. I lost my husband to cancer 20 years ago, and there are still times I cry about it. As is very apparent, he is not unwilling to go on forever about how unfair it all was for him, yet his wife was almost decapitated, and he has not one tear for her. Finally, a journalist asked him the most important question, "Are you still looking for the REAL killers?" Listen to just how invested OJ is in that endeavor.Does it not seem odd, that such a brutal crime, has not had one other significant clue about the true murderer surface in all these years?O.J. is out golfing.I watched every day of this trial with my mom. So, now my blood is boiling.F. Lee Baily's statement at the beginning of this video, is not QUITE accurate when he said the LAPD following the Bronco for 2 hours, talking to O.J.s driver, and best friend, Al Cowlings, on his cell phone telling him to surrender O.J., was NOT a chase. The police were actually being very careful following Simpson, not to cause the chase to escalate into a dangerous situation. If it was not a chase, why didn't Cowlings pull over and surrender Simpson. If it was not a chase, why did O.J. ignore his lawyer, Robert Shapiro, when he called his client at 7:30 AM, telling him he was being charged with murder, and to surrender himself? The police were trying to gain cooperation, and did not announce Simpson as a "fugitive from justice" until about 10 hours later, around 5PMThe chase finally ended 12 hours later, around 7:30 PM, after the initial call to Shapiro.Simpson had a 357 Magnum handgun, thousands of dollars, a wig........No, Simpson just wanted to visit NIcole's grave. Uh HuhAlso, the theory of all the evidence planting. The glove at Rockingham. I NEVER hear why, or HOW, Fuhrman would take one bloody glove from the crime scene, leave the other one there, drive to O.J.s, and plant it immediately on the grounds of Rockingham. The police had not even spoken to Simpson. What if OJ had an airtight alibi? What if he was in Europe? Would it not raise a hell storm of questions about how the glove had made its way to his place, on its own?If it looks like a duck, and quacks LOUDLY like a duck, for over 20 years, it's probably a guilty duck.I'm Hispanic born and raised in San Francisco. Unfortunately, there were no Latinos where I went to school only blacks and whites. Not sure why but even though I had my share of white friends most of my friends, and even girlfriends, were black. My point is race was NOT a factor for me when theI'm Hispanic born and raised in San Francisco. Unfortunately, there were no Latinos where I went to school only blacks and whites. Not sure why but even though I had my share of white friends most of my friends, and even girlfriends, were black. My point is race was NOT a factor for me when the O.J. trial was going on. Unfortunately, I can't say the same of many blacks and whites. And just for the record, I agree with most blacks when it comes to police brutality and corruption. Is it possible that police planted evidence? Of course it is! They do it all the time. That being said, I think O.J. was guilty as hell! I followed this case closely, and yes there is a chance the police planted and played with evidence, but that doesn't mean O.J. is innocent. Once the police get on the stand and get caught in lies like Mark Furman et al, it gets tough to convict somebody of murder beyond a reasonable doubt. If the police had done their job and not given O.J. preferential treatment every time Nicole called them screaming and begging them to come over because she was getting her butt kicked by this maniac, there's a good chance Nicole and Ron would be alive today. For those of you interested in this case I suggest you watch: ( O.J.: Made in America). There's a lot of TV shows and movies concerning O.J. but this is one of the better ones! Before watching this video, I was totally against OJ Simpson, especially when he went to DC and the church gave him some monies. I would not say still that he was innocent, but the racist police destroyed the whole case. If I was on the jury, which I had been several times when I lived in DC and enjoyed getting off work sometimes, I would also have to go by the evidence. It was nice to see his daughter by previous marriage, who seemed to be a nice person who cares for her step-brother and sister. She spoke of how many of them lived in the house while he was on trial. I did not know he spent over a year in solitary confinement while the trial was going on. I was surprised how clear the picture was when it came on and he was driving. A lot of these kind of shows, like with MJ for instance, are old looking or taken by amateurs. If it were not for him being an abuser, I would have said he was innocent. Sometimes things happen to people just because they were mean to a person or persons and it is payback. Even though, they may be innocent of crime they are charged with. Near the end, when he was talking and showed the hotel room where he lived for a while, I felt like crying, thinking of Nicole and her children. If it were not for the Lord, I would be crazy living in this world!
