I have had these on my list of gifts for my kids for years, and I'm glad I waited. There are quite a few people out there who claim these things are a danger. Here's yet another a-hole with an opinion on this product. With some logic in mind:1. Are they "cheap plastic?" Eh, it could be better, but they will hold my weight and I'm a full grown adult. I am 5'2" and about 115 pounds. I never felt like they would crush under my weight.2. Dangerous? People have said that using these on hardwood floors would be detrimental. My kids have, but they are 8 and 10 and have more coordination...because they are a little older. Like I said, I have been saving these as a stocking stuffer for a long time. I would say 7 and up. It's largely a coordination issue. Also, my kids prefer these barefoot, because it provides better control for them. They would also be fun in the soft grass.I remember playing with these as a kid (I believe the rope was vinyl back then). We played with these things on concrete floor with stone walls padding us to protect our falls. We are OK. Your kids may or may not find it fun. My kids have had fun with them since Christmas. I am not worried about them hurting themselves.Learning to balance is a required skill for Physical Education, in California at least, under the Body Management standard for kindergarteners. This product is silly, fun, and IT WORKS. Sure, my lil 'Princess' as she likes to call herself was a bit skittish in the beginning (she's 5) but she got the hang of it little by little and now 2 mos on she can walk 89 steps in these crazy things without losing her grip. And she gets better each time. I love this toy because it also teaches self-confidence: you have to believe that you won't fall and just keep going. Like the real stilt walkers, you have to keep moving. We've found that the best way for her to get traction with this is outside on the pavement while wearing sneakers. We tried it on the grass first (I was skittish of her falling on hard pavement) but it didn't work well at all.At first I would coax her into trying em out, even for a minute. But as she's improved she has started to ask for them when we go outside to play. By name. From a stubborn 5-year-old there's no better approval rating than that. "Monster Feet!"A very cute Halloween gift for a boy or girl. I'm sure would also be fun at a Monsters Inc. themed party."Monster Feet" are one of those classic toys that have been around so long for a reason! They are a simple but fun toy, and they also promote hand-eye coordination and get kids moving and active. We bought this particular brand for my kids (3- and 4-yrs) and they love them. They work just as we expected, and they're not very expensive. Win-win! I've also found that these are a great gift for the older preschool crowd, because they're relatively inexpensive and not something that every child already owns in their playroom. I like to pair them with a fun monster book like These are a really nice, quality plastic. I kind of expected them to be flimsy, and I'm glad they aren't. The package says they hold up to 110 lbs, which is surprising. I weigh more than that, and they held me fine while I showed my kids how to use them (no stress marks on the plastic and they didn't completely collapse, so that's good). My kids aren't quite coordinated enough to keep them on their feet yet (I bought them for the 3.5 year old, but of course my 20 month old wants to use them too), so I might string a piece of elastic though the hole to help them out until they get the hang of it.There aren't really any grips on the bottom, but we didn't have any trouble using them on cement or carpet. Tile or hardwood might present a problem because of the lack of grips. The hard plastic could scratch wood floors, especially if they've been roughed up outside. My 3yr old Loves these! He thinks they are just over the top scary & funny! He feels so cool in them! Not to mention, it is great motor skills/thinking/exercise..My 3yr old son, states he is determined to get himself walking by himself on these! He can't use them by himself yet, but I hold him & the strings(he holds the strings also)..& as he walks..I kinda walk with him, to hold him up around the house..the whole time he is just giggling/smiling head to toe..which any momma <3's hearing..along with myself laughing at how cute he looks walking in them! They are super cool! Super great Deal!! Any Momma should buy for anyone who has a child/toddler that loves monsters!! My son tries them on atleast 12times a day or more! Hey it gives us mom's an exercise until he is fully able to walk in them(prob. not until he is 5-6yrs old)....Do Make sure the Rope is Knotted(It tends to come undone all the time, so make sure to hold ur toddler the WHOLE time, no stairs, no cement, just carpeted areas)..You will be amazed how worth the money these are! Total hit! These monster feet get a lot of use at my house. We ordered two sets, and still my own kiddo and the neighbor and daycare kids fight over them. They're fairly cheaply made, but seem durable enough for now. My only complaint is about the ropes that attach to the monster feet. The ropes did not come attached to the toy -- not a huge deal, but it does mean you have to attach and tie them off yourself, meaning measuring to make sure you tie the knot in the same place on both "feet" so the ropes are the same length. Also, the ropes are coated in a slippery substance (which may make them less coarse on little hands, but it definitely hasn't kept the ends from unraveling), and the knots do not want to stay tied. I think I may end up taking a lighter to the knots and melting the plastic-y coating so that the ropes don't come off in the middle of play. The whole idea is that the feet do nothing on their own, the kids have to get on them and walk, have races and have fun, a great product.was asked by my grandson (age 3) for some stilts , found these and he loves them, stomps around the house all dayGreat for the kids to play in door or out, funky looking feet, helps to get them active out side.Brilliant toy quick delivery would highly recommendExcelente producto, mi hijo quedo encantado, los materiales son de muy buena calidad.
