If for whatever reason you have felt singled out, alienated and ostracized from society and their archaic dogmas, for simply being YOU, this is the book for you. If you ever felt the exhausting need to be deemed redeemable despite not being really broken, to be authentically seen, this is most definitely the book for you. If you enjoy stunningly written books, this is absolutely the book for you. Freydís' prose is elegant, vivid and otherworldly; it exudes a delicate smoothness and is in itself a hearfelt and eloquent celebration to family, heritage, self-love and life. In this day and age, I can not overstate the importance of trans rep in publishing; MC in this book is a latinx trans man (who is also a sex worker). As a latinx myself, it made me warm and happy to read such an earnest and beautiful representation. As also a queer person, paragraph after paragraph, it filled me with a sense of healing and hope, that I am sure we are all in the lack of, and all I can do is thank Freydís Moon for this, with less eloquence than they deserve but from the bottom of my heart nonetheless.
