What's this? A manga featuring a mature, level-headed, main male protagonist who doesn't act like a per-pubescent child around women? Well I must say that this is the manga we needed, but not the one we deserved. What I mean by that is this manga is by and large the most interesting title to hit shelves since Chronicles of the Cursed Sword, presenting a story that progresses at a steady pace with very little exposition. If you're as sick as I am of the High School RomComs that go no where or the so called "harems" lead by romantically oblivious protagonists, then look no further! The story itself is very interesting, covering the topic of resurrection. Now I hear you saying "But Red, this topic's been done before!" And to that I say "Not like this it hasn't!" Sure we've all seen main characters brought back to life as powerful heroes, legendary villains, and themselves. But what about a measly goblin? One of the weakest creatures in D&D lore, and an enemy you usually mow down by the dozens in any fantasy JRPG. But since the man who was resurrected had been a strong, intelligent, and proactive person he puts forth great effort in leveling up. Sure he got to keep the ability to learn from anything he consumes, but he always has to defeat his meals first. One warning to those who don't know yet, but this manga heavily features a lot of sex in the second volume. Like, A LOT. This is actually something that led me to this series, as I was in the market for a real harem manga with a fair but wise male protagonist. Now the encounters are never shown in any great detail, but the lead up is obvious and our main character "Gob Rou" will allude to what he's doing that we can't see. It's tasteful, and not overdone. God Rou has many sexual encounters in the second volume, but they aren't overwhelming and end up feeling like part of his duty as the leader. An act he must perform to keep all parties happy, but it doesn't consume his character which continues to stand strong as a warrior, tactician, and friend.I was rather surprised to find that the translation and publication was being done by Seven Seas, a company I've not had anything good to say about as they continue to butcher Monster Musume's dialogue. However I discovered that translator doing this series is Lu Huan, who has been doing a bang up job of staying true to the original Japanese dialogue. So I must revise my opinion of Seven Seas, they are not all bad.
